Weekly Menu Plan

It was a busy but fun weekend here.  My parents were visiting for the weekend.  Friday night the neighbors had a family movie night in their backyard.  We watched the movie Hoodwinked and had popcorn.  Saturday was church and just hanging around the house.  Everyone except G took a nap.  She is my nap-resistant child.  She did stay in her room and play quietly for almost an hour though.

Sunday I woke up early and went to a local metropark for a 13 mile run.  It was an absolutely beautiful morning for a run and I love running at that park.  It has a nice 8 mile loop with lots of things to look at and a lot of other runners.  After the run I came home and had a couple of hours before I took the girls to a birthday party.  From the birthday party we went to a church corn roast which was a lot of fun, in spite of the heat!  Summer has returned not that school has started.  The kids were exhausted after their busy day and went to bed and were asleep within minutes.  I spent the evening reading after doing a little bit of work on the computer.

And now it is Monday again!  Looking forward to a long weekend next weekend.

Here is the menu plan for this week.  Mom and Dad brought us lots of produce from their garden so we will be enjoying that this week.

Monday:  Stonefruit and Lentil Salad
Tuesday:  Zucchini Boats
Wednesday: Cucumber Chickpea Salad
Thursday: Baked Patty Pan Squash
Friday: Pizza Night
Saturday: Pasta salad of some kind
Sunday: Taking the kids to a baseball game!

  1. Love all the veggies on your menu! I’ve never tried patty pan squash. The recipe looks yummy!

  2. Sounds like a fun weekend! I’m glad to hear you have a nap resistant child, too. The last few months, L has been willing herself to stay awake no matter how tired she is. If she’s exhausted, I’ve taken her in the car a few times to get a cat nap… silly girl! But she is 3 1/2 so I guess she can go without a nap.
