How has it been a week since Thanksgiving?! We have some catching up to do! So, grab a cup of coffee or some tea and lets chat about what we’ve been up to since Thanksgiving.
L, my oldest, woke up sick on Thursday morning and has actually been sick until today. We took her to the Dr on Monday and she got some antibiotics so finally started feeling better yesterday. Tomorrow she will be back to school.
Because of L being sick we had a pretty low key, quiet weekend. We did go to my in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner and had a nice dinner there.
Over the weekend we decorated the inside of our house for Christmas. Hubby put the lights outside a couple weeks ago when it was warm out.
We have 2 trees in our house. One is an artificial tree that I let the kids decorate. The other is a real tree that we usually get the weekend after Thanksgiving. Because L was sick we postponed that to this weekend. The real tree gets decorated a little more formally with a silver and red theme. I’ll post a picture after we get that one all decorated. One of my favorite things about decorating for Christmas is that I get to put out my Willow Tree nativity set. I really love it and would like to keep it out all year!
This year, I decided we needed a new wreath for our front door so I got a little crafty! I had a lot of fun making this wreath out of Christmas ornaments. It really didn’t take long and I am really pleased with the way it turned out. Now I just hope it doesn’t fall off the door!
I also signed up for 2 different healthy living challenges for the Holidays. The first is Elf 4 Health hosted by Lindsay and Elle. In this challenge you are paired with another person as their “elf.” You email them to encourage them and help keep them accountable for their workouts and healthy eating during the Holidays. There are also different daily challenges like eating meatless, trying a new workout, and sending a handwritten note to someone. It is really a lot of fun and there is still time to sign up for phase 2 and 3 of this challenge. Oh and there is a chance for prizes!
The second challenge is The Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge hosted by Amanda. In this challenge you earn points based on completing workouts, eating 5-7 servings of fruits and veggies, and supporting your fellow bootie busters. Top point earners win prizes each week. This challenge is also a lot of fun and it really is making me get more workouts in and eat my fruits and veggies. Instead of watching TV I will take some time for a quick 20 minutes or yoga or strength training.
How do you stay on top of your eating and workouts during the Holidays?
Well, there’s a little recap of what’s been happening around here over the past week. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Now I’m ready for some snow!
