What I Ate Wednesday
Yesterday was a beautiful fall day here in Michigan! I had a 5 mile run on the to do list so after doing a few housework chores in the morning the kiddos and I headed out to enjoy the weather.
I am blessed to have a metropark a couple miles from our house and I love going there to run. They have an 8 mile bike/hike trail through the woods. I love that I can run there and not worry about cars or crazy dogs. I loaded the two younger kids into our Burley jogging stroller and did a 5 mile run on the trail. After the run we went to the playground and played for while.
I am running the Grand Rapids half marathon on Oct 21. I signed up with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training in the spring and have raised over $1300. Only a few more weeks until the race!
I missed taking pictures of a couple of my meals but I actually remembered to take a picture of my breakfast! And it is really hard to make oatmeal look good in pictures.
Breakfast was the standard oatmeal with banana, peanut butter, flax seed, and almond milk.
I actually didn’t have a morning snack. By the time we got back from the park it was time for lunch.
Lunch was leftover curried carrot soup with a Tofurky turkey sandwich. I will be posting the recipe for the soup soon!
For an afternoon snack I had a macadamia oat scone that I had made in the morning. I will be posting the recipe for those later also.
I forgot to take a picture of my dinner. My oldest daughter is involved in an Adventurer club at our church (kind of like boy scouts or girl scouts) and they had a bowling party in the evening. The kids ate pizza there but I didn’t want to eat pizza so I quickly ate a burrito before taking the kids to the party.
The burrito had refried beans, lettuce, peppers, tomato, and salsa in a whole wheat tortilla.

What a great morning w/ your little ones. Good luck @ your race in a couple weeks!!
I love your little blondies. They are SO cute!
I love this segment! Helps me realize that healthy choices can be made on the fly with two kids in tow and 30 seconds to spare! Thanks James!!!
Little blondies…they are so very cute!
Enjoy the race and congrats on raising $1300.
That park/trail sounds fabulous! Our area is getting something similar but it won’t fully be completed for awhile. Jealous!
