Homemade Butterfinger Bites {Secret Recipe Club}

It’s that time of the month again!  No, not that time.  It’s time for the Secret Recipe Club reveal.  Which also seems to make me crave chocolate now that I think about it…

This month I was assigned Toni’s blog Mommy’s Menu.  Toni is a stay at home mom to 7 kids!!!  I don’t know how she does it because my 3 wear me out! I was definitely drooling over some of her recipes including the Strawberry Cheesecake Chocolate Chip cookies.  They look so delicious that I will just have to make them now that strawberries are coming into season here in Michigan.  And chocolate chip cookies are always in season.  Toni also has a recipe for strawberries on pizza that looks really interesting.  And I am always looking for new varieties of pizza.  In fact she has some really great strawberry recipes so check them out.

The recipe I chose is super quick and easy.  And it has 3 ingredients, 2 of which are peanut butter and dark chocolate.  These little bites couldn’t be easier.  The kids loved helping make them and they only require 1 bowl be dirtied.  Plus they have contain whole wheat, peanut butter, and dark chocolate so they’re healthy, right?

Homemade Butterfinger Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 box Wheat Thins crackers, I used the reduced fat
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 12 ounce bag dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips and the coconut oil in a small bowl.
  2. Place in the microwave and melt in 30 second increments until melted.
  3. Spread a dab of peanut butter on a Wheat Thin. Place another Wheat Thin on top.
  4. Dunk the Wheat Thin sandwich in the bowl of chocolate. Swirl it around until covered.
  5. Use a fork to remove the sandwich from the chocolate.
  6. Place on wax paper to harden. Repeat with remaining crackers and chocolate.
