I had a minor hiccup in our detox diet as you will soon see. My almost 3 year old was sick on Monday so I didn’t get dinner made. So hubby brought home Thai takeout. Definitely not in the detox plan. But we are back on track and actually noticed that the takeout definitely made us feel more tired after we ate it. Today isn’t quite as veggie filled as the previous weeks. G wasn’t feeling well when we went grocery shopping so I was trying to hurry and was distracted and therefore forgot some things that I wanted to get. Oh well!
Breakfast was Grape Nuts with sliced bananas and almond milk. Hubby says Grape Nuts tastes like dog food. I love it, but then I haven’t tasted dog food so I wouldn’t know.
Didn’t have a morning snack today like usual! Distracted I guess.
Lunch was the leftover Drunken Noodle takeout.
Afternoon snack was one of Mama Pea’s homemade pop-tarts made gluten free and using homemade sugar free strawberry jam. And a glass of almond milk. These pop-tarts are so delicious! I want to try to make a brown sugar version! And definitely add some frosting
I also had a berry smoothie somewhere in here but forgot to take a picture.
Dinner was spinach and mushroom enchiladas with “cheesy” rice. I will share this recipe tomorrow.
What has been your favorite thing you’ve eaten so far this week?

Yum! I’ve been wanting to try her poptarts, too. Glad to hear they were a success!!
I’ve already made about 3 batches!
The enchiladas look delicious!!
Thanks! I will share the recipe soon!
I think your my food twin-sister!
I too am on a cleanse. aka detox.
Eat Ezekiel (almost the same as grapenuts and my husband thinks it’s gross) with banana (plus frozen blueberries- by the time I get to it, they’re defrosted) and almond milk…
Also I made Mama Pea’s poptarts this week and they tasted like childhood. I was decadent and added the sugary coating and some pink sprinkles, but mostly because they were sparkly and am trying to use up the huge vat I bought for a birthday party a few years ago.
Happy Eats!! And best wishes on the detox!
How funny! Nice to meet you, food twin! The poptarts really are delicious! But I still would love a big giant piece of chocolate cake. Or a dozen chocolate chip cookies.
I never knew homemade poptarts were the easiest to make and so much fun to fill!
I know! We’re a little addicted now.
I love Grape Nuts! I’ve never tasted dog food either though.
Pop-tarts have been on my list to make for a long time. The chocolate ones with vanilla were my favorite growing up.
Hope your baby is better soon!
Oooh, I love the idea of mushroom enchiladas. I’ll definitely be checking out the recipe!
I can’t believe I used to hate mushrooms!
oh gosh. i love grape nuts but haven’t had them in forever. in college i would literally have them every day. that’s some good dog food !
I hadn’t eaten them in awhile but saw them at the store and immediately wanted them. So good!
That homemade strawberry poptart look a-mazing. A brown sugar version sounds really good too.
They are so good! Really simple to make too. We’ve made about 3 batches so far. I just bought some brown sugar so I think that is next!
